Opinion: Law enforcement is still sabotaging me at the Human Resources Administration and many other places.

This is the email I sent to HRA about it.

Greetings HRA,

First and foremost I always treat everyone at HRA with the utmost respect at all times.

No matter what.

People I know pay law enforcement to tease me, sabotage me, and harass me every day.

Law enforcement doesn’t have any oversight at all.

I suspect that law enforcement is threatening whoever at HRA is in charge of paying for my storage.

I uploaded a clear copy of my storage bill through the Access HRA app and the bill isn’t getting paid.

Anytime I go to the HRA office on 16 St in New York City, law enforcement has women and men crash into me, shove their phones in my face, blow drug smoke in my face, cut me in line, they have drug addicts pretend they are handing me things, etc.

I just ignore the women and men that law enforcement has harass me.

I handle my business and leave.

If anyone can look into what’s going on with my storage it would be appreciated.

Thank you and have a great day.

Opinion: Email to HRA about my MetroCard allowance and cold food retailers not accepting the welfare EBT card on January 13, 2023.

Greetings HRA,

First and foremost, I always treat everyone at HRA with the absolute utmost respect at all times. That is more important than any of this.

Thank you for saving my life with the food and money.

The stuff that is going on with law enforcement sabotaging people’s food at some, not all, soup kitchens is out of control. Thank God I don’t have to deal with that.

People I know pay the NYPD and others to harass me. That’s why I’m homeless.

Question. What is the story with the Baruch College student MetroCard money?

I’m a full-time student at Baruch College.

I think school starts back up on January 25, 2023.

If you’re not too busy, please let me know when the MetroCard money starts back up.

A few weeks ago, I stopped receiving my MetroCard money around Christmas 2022.

Additionally, can someone please look into why there are so many places in Manhattan that sell cold food that don’t accept SNAP/EBT/Food Stamps?

Sometimes I ask people at food stores, markets, supermarkets, etc., whether they take food stamps.

Some of them, not all, say they don’t take food stamps/EBT like it’s beneath them or something. Like, that’s for poor people or something like that.

In my humble opinion, that is ridiculous.

I appreciate the help.

I’m living in the street homeless for the past five years or longer.

I don’t drink.

I don’t smoke.

I don’t party.

I don’t do anything illegal.

Just no money and bad credit.

I don’t look homeless.

I understand the government doesn’t want people blowing the food money on bad things so that is why we are forced to spend out welfare food money at participating retailers.

The thing is, a number of Manhattan retailers are not accepting the card.

There are a lot of retailers that do accept the card.

I don’t understand why any cold food retailers would turn down food stamps when there are so many of us receiving them.

It doesn’t make sense.

Why would a company turn down government money?

Can someone please look into it?

Thank you and have a great day.

Mark Pine.

Greetings HRA,

First and foremost thank you for all the help.

I am a full time Baruch College student that has been living in the street homeless for the past five years.

I don’t drink. I don’t smoke. I don’t party. I don’t have a criminal record.

I always treat all the HRA staff and security guards with the absolute utmost respect at all times. Most of the welfare recipients are respectful with the HRA staff like myself but it’s still a demanding job for the HRA team and they are appreciated.

I’m not taking any classes this summer at Baruch College.

I was signed up for two classes and I dropped them both.

I dropped one summer class at Baruch College on June 13, 2022. I dropped the second Baruch College summer class a week or two later.

Fall 2022 I’m signed up for a full time schedule at Baruch College. That starts on August 25, 2022.

In the meantime I did all the preparation to work for RF CUNY at Baruch College although I don’t believe there are any job openings.

I went on a RF CUNY interview for the library and they said they had a large number of applicants for the position so they couldn’t hire me.

When I was at LaGuardia Community College before Baruch College I was able to obtain a job with RF CUNY very easily. I assume that’s because it’s a much smaller school.

At first I didn’t realize how competitive RF CUNY is at Baruch College so I was asking for the library. Now that I realize I might not be able to land a RF CUNY job at all I notified the CUNY Edge office I’ll take a job in any department.

The reason for this note is that classes don’t start again until August 25, 2022.

Due to the fact that there are no openings at RF CUNY I’m unable to find a job so I’m not working.

I’m still receiving the MetroCard money every week. If I’m not supposed to be receiving the MetroCard money I just wanted to point it out because I don’t want anything that isn’t mine. I always follow the HRA rules exactly as they are required.

I just recertified my public assistance case so I’m set until June 2023. I just don’t believe I’m supposed to receive the MetroCard money if I’m not working for RF CUNY and I’m off from school. That was my experience last summer.

Please advise.

Thank you and have a great day.

Email to New York City Human Resources Administration about my welfare case recertification. June 7, 2022.

Greetings HRA,

I turned in all my documentation for my recertification.

Baruch College turned in the school documentation.

I had my interview in person at 14 Street Manhattan today June 7, 2022.

I just noticed in my account that there was a language questionnaire.

After I filled out and completed the language questionnaire I uploaded it into the Access HRA app.

I uploaded it into the other tab because I didn’t see a tab for language questionnaires.

I’ll keep checking for any additional updates.

Please let me know if anything else is needed for my recertification.

Thank you and have a great day.

Email to the New York City public assistance office about my storage room. May 14, 2022.

Greetings HRA,

First and foremost, thank you and your staff for the amazing help you provide to New Yorkers including myself. I always treat your staff with the utmost respect at all times.

I just uploaded my new storage bill on May 11, 2022. The bill is due by June 1, 2022.

I downloaded the bill PDF from the storage company on my phone. Then I took a screenshot of the storage bill PDF. Then I uploaded the picture storage bill PDF into the HRA app.

From my experience, the result is a perfectly clear copy of my storage bill reaches your staff.

For the past two or three months, I submit my storage bill and the check doesn’t go out until past the due date. Also, I have to email your office through the public web form every month or the check isn’t mailed to the storage company.

I’m not sure why that’s the case.

It seems like common sense that everyone on public assistance doesn’t have to visit their HRA center every single month. That would be a huge amount of extra work for your team.

I also can’t imagine that every month, all New Yorker’s on public assistance or SNAP (food stamps) have to contact your staff via this web form.

Please help me if you can figure out why I have to contact your office every month to have the check mailed to my storage company. I asked the good people at HRA 14 Street and they don’t know.

If there is anything else I have to do please let me know and I’ll do it immediatly.

Please advise.

Thank you and have a great day.
