The Executive Thesis

Legal systems are fundamentally reactive: they step into personal relationships only after a breakdown occurs, resulting in expensive litigation, bitter property disputes, and emotional fallout. While prenuptial agreements exist for marriage, no practical, standardized framework exists for the modern dating and cohabitation lifecycle.

State laws governing domestic partnerships, common-law claims, shared property, and cohabitation are fragmented, obscure, and frequently misunderstood until it is too late.

Legal Relationship Startups is building a preventative legal-tech platform designed to introduce contractual clarity, mutual transparency, and asset protection into personal relationships before conflicts arise. The venture focuses on empowering couples to set fair expectations, document shared assets, and make informed decisions with the backing of licensed legal counsel.

Key Product Pillars

All platform tools and educational resources will be designed and audited in direct collaboration with licensed attorneys to respect state-level regulatory boundaries and avoid the Unauthorized Practice of Law (UPL).

  • Lifecycle Documentation Engine: Digital workflows enabling couples to record mutual understandings, itemize personal and shared property, and generate structured documentation before moving in together, lending money, or formalizing commitments.
  • Jurisdictional Legal Education: Clear, attorney-vetted video modules and plain-language guides explaining state-specific statutes on cohabitation, property rights, marital obligations, and relevant criminal law.
  • Attorney Consultation Prep: Self-guided intake tools that help users diagnose their specific legal questions and risks, reducing expensive billable hours when they consult a private attorney.
  • Vetted Counsel Marketplace: Direct referral channels connecting users to independent family law attorneys for custom contract drafting, negotiation, and formal representation.
  • Mutual Due-Diligence Module: Consent-based disclosure tools allowing partners to voluntarily verify relevant mutual background data, credit standings, and health information.

Operating Philosophy & Technical Architecture

  • Decentralized Data Sovereignty: High-profile consumer platforms face constant cyber threats. Rather than trapping sensitive relationship records on a vulnerable centralized server, our architecture prioritizes local export, client-side encryption, and physical print workflows. Users maintain primary custody of their records.
  • Ecosystem Resilience: The broader vision entails launching multiple independent entities.
  • Absolute Transparency: The venture is built on unvarnished honesty. No product will promise total legal immunity or complete relationship harmony; the value lies in mitigating exposure and aligning expectations through documented facts.

Strategic Roadmap

  1. Regulatory Clearance & UPL Review: Retain specialized legal counsel to map product boundaries, establish standard disclaimers, and verify compliance across key jurisdictions.
  2. Core MVP Engineering: Partner with software developers to launch a web application focused on documentation templates, checklists, and local file exports.
  3. Advisory Council Formation: Engage family law experts—to review platform ethics, educational validity, and product utility.

Investor Disclosures & Risk Profile

  • Accredited Investors Exclusively: This presentation is strictly for institutional investors and accredited individuals who meet regulatory requirements for private placements.
  • High-Risk Profile: This is a pre-revenue, early-stage venture operating in a developing product category. The risk of total loss is real, and the venture may never reach commercial profitability. No returns or liquidity events are guaranteed.
  • Founder Alignment: Mark Pine operates with complete transparency regarding development risks, technical hurdles, and market adoption. I are seeking disciplined, value-aligned partners focused on deliberate execution.

I have not raised any money so far. I’m 50. I don’t drink, smoke, or party.

I will only accept funding from professional, accredited investors. I’m not desperate for a deal. I’m looking for the right partners.

The reality is, 99.9% of startups fail. This idea may never earn a penny in profit. I am being transparent about that.

I will never lie or exaggerate to investors. The odds are the legal relationship startups won’t ever earn a penny.

New York City law enforcement steals every one of my ideas that they like, hands them over to people who have the money to utilize my ideas, and then the police harass me all day long.

I don’t have a criminal record. I don’t do anything illegal. I don’t drink. I don’t smoke. I don’t do anything like that. Men I know pay the New York City police to harass people they don’t like without any legitimate reason. The New York City government won’t help.

The vision is to hire attorneys and developers to build this.

The next step is to have attorneys match actual laws to the concept to determine what is legally permissible.

The odds are the legal relationship startup will never earn any money. I’m doing this because I feel that it’s needed. Of course I would love to earn money. The reality of the situation is anyone can create a legal relationship startup.

Most people don’t want to do business with me because the New York City police harass me every day.

I landed on the idea for the legal relationship startup because of the New York City police harassing me. The New York City police had several young women try to have sex with me to set me up. I didn’t fall for it.

The New York City police have civilian women in regular clothes crash into me, shove their phones in my face, and harass me anyway they can in Manhattan. Of course, the ladies complain about me while they’re harassing me.

New York City law enforcement are as corrupt as humanly possible.

The odds are the legal relationship startup won’t earn any money and will go out of business. No guaranteed returns. Accredited investors only.
