Email to the Jericho Public Library about being arrested in the lobby.

Greetings Jericho Public Library,

I was the person who was arrested in the lobby of the library by the Nassau County Police Department. I didn’t resist arrest at all and I was one hundred percent respectful to the detectives and police officers.

I’m out of jail now and I don’t plan on returning.

I’m 44 years old and a full-time college student at LaGuardia Community College. I was just accepted to Baruch College. I’ll be attending there next semester as a journalism major.

I don’t drink. I don’t smoke. I don’t have a criminal record. I don’t do anything illegal.

I’m on the dean’s list and I have a 4.0 GPA after 27 credits.

I was arrested for arguing with the NCPD on the phone. No threats were made. I was told that I’ll probably end up with a violation on my record.

I wanted to contact you before I come back to the library. I also just called and the librarian in charge said as long as I continue to follow all the rules it would be OK for me to continue to utilize the services of the library.

I’m not going to contact the NCPD again so there won’t be any more misunderstandings between them and me.

Please provide any feedback you deem appropriate.

Thank you and have a great day.

Ever upward,

Mark Pine
