I treat everyone at CUNY and HRA with the utmost respect at all times because I’m a respectful person.
For some reason, my HRA public assistance case recertification was moved from November 2020 to December 2020. My student loan payment is going to land into my Chase Bank account on October 15. The amount is about $5000.
I was told by staff at CUNY and HRA Waverly Job Center that I can receive student loans and public assistance at the same time. They didn’t seem certain if having thousands of dollars in my bank account was going to affect my case or not.
The issue is the student loans never arrived on the same day as my recertification. Usually, the student loans show up after my HRA case recertification that was now moved so that it matches up perfectly with the date my student loans will be deposited.
The Access HRA help desk and anyone who has emailed me from the NYC Comptroller’s Office and HRA will not respond in writing with an answer. How can I find out about the rules regarding student loans, public assistance, and having cash from student loans sitting in a bank account?
I don’t drink, smoke, or party. I use the money for school, warm clothes, and to pay bills in advance. I have a 4.0 GPA after 27 credits.
I’m on pubic assistance and have been homeless for the past 5 years. HRA used to pay for me to have a small storage space to keep a few things. Please verify yourself if you are interested because everything is constantly updating. I’m not sure if they still pay for people to have storage or not.
This is the email I recently sent HRA about my storage. I assume they do still pay for certain individuals who qualify for storage. Again, please verify all information yourself regarding the qualifications. I’m trying to file a lawsuit against HRA for a few additional issues. I’m mentioning it because I reference the New York City Comptroller’s Office in the email. The NYC Comptroller is who I filed the paperwork with to let the city know I want to sue HRA.
First and foremost, I always treat everyone at HRA with the utmost respect at all times regardless of how they treat me. Usually, they treat me nicely. Even if I visit HRA and a staff member isn’t being very friendly I still treat them with the utmost respect because I’m a respectful person.
I 1000% appreciate the help from HRA, New York State, and the Federal Government. The services you provide are very generous. The issue is that I feel as with every city agency I interact with I’m discriminated against because people I grew up with on Long Island pay New York law enforcement to torture and sabotage people including myself. Hence the reason I’m homeless. I don’t drink, smoke, or party. I don’t have a criminal record. I have a 4.0 GPA at CUNY after 27 credits living in the street with New York law enforcement torturing me. It’s not harassment, its torture. New York law enforcement runs around and has every city agency I interact with sabotage me. 1. USPS 2. DMV 3. HRA 4. others I won’t mention for the sake of this blog post.
Attached is the bill for my storage. I have submitted this bill in person on at least 3 separate occasions. I have also submitted the bill via the mobile app and the scanner at HRA Waverly Job Center on 14th Street in New York City. I also submitted 3 estimates from other storage companies that were more money and did not provide 24/7 access as the storage company we agreed on does. The cost is $34 per month.
I’ve had to pay out of pocket for this for at least 3 to 6 months while I’m living in the street. You can check the exact date when they stopped paying, I can’t remember. If it wasn’t for my student loans the little belongings I have would be in the street right now.
I will send you a separate email regarding additional issues you were notified about from the NYC Comptroller’s office.
