Respectful email to a professor at CUNY challenging my grade on one homework.

Greetings Professor,

I treat everyone at CUNY, professors, staff, and students with the utmost respect at all times. That is more important than anything. It’s an awesome opportunity to go to CUNY without spending a penny upfront and I cherish the opportunity.

With that being said I disagree with the grade and I’m going to send it to the department to challenge it. I’m 99.9% confident they are going to side with you but I want to go on the record that I disagree with the grade. On a positive note, you have motivated me to work even harder and I’ll go above and beyond on future assignments.

Please don’t hold this against me, I just would appreciate a second opinion if I can get it.

I think your a great professor and obviously you know everything there is to know about NYC government. I thought it said in the book that the official relationship is between the state and the federal government. The state controls the NYC government and allows them to run it themselves but the state reserves the right to step in at any time.

I understand that the federal government and NYC government have a direct relationship because it said the federal government provides money to the NYC government. If I’m correct I thought the book said the deeper connection is between the federal and state government and the relationship between the federal and NYC government is not nearly as strong as the federal government and Albany.

Again, I love your class and everything I’m learning. I will work even harder moving forward to try and achieve the best possible results. Your feedback is appreciated and I will do everything I can to dig deeper and do better moving forward.

Thank you and have a great day.

Ever upward,

Mark Pine

I love CUNY.
