I treat everyone at CUNY and HRA with the utmost respect at all times because I’m a respectful person.
For some reason, my HRA public assistance case recertification was moved from November 2020 to December 2020. My student loan payment is going to land into my Chase Bank account on October 15. The amount is about $5000.
I was told by staff at CUNY and HRA Waverly Job Center that I can receive student loans and public assistance at the same time. They didn’t seem certain if having thousands of dollars in my bank account was going to affect my case or not.
The issue is the student loans never arrived on the same day as my recertification. Usually, the student loans show up after my HRA case recertification that was now moved so that it matches up perfectly with the date my student loans will be deposited.
The Access HRA help desk and anyone who has emailed me from the NYC Comptroller’s Office and HRA will not respond in writing with an answer. How can I find out about the rules regarding student loans, public assistance, and having cash from student loans sitting in a bank account?
I don’t drink, smoke, or party. I use the money for school, warm clothes, and to pay bills in advance. I have a 4.0 GPA after 27 credits.
